VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Miata Metals Corp. (TSXV: MMET; FSE: 8NQ; OTCQX: MMETF) (“Miata” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce drill results from four holes from its ongoing 25,000 m diamond drilling program at its Sela Creek Gold Project (“Sela Creek” or the “Project”) in Suriname.
Hole 26DDH-JT-026 delivered an exceptionally high-grade intercept of 13.59 m at 10.33 g/t Au from 184.41 m, including 3.56 m at 37.62 g/t Au. This result represents a step-out from recently reported hole 26DDH-JT-025, which intersected 43.0 m at 2.42 g/t Au and a separate 25.6 m at 1.96 g/t Au, further supporting the continuity of mineralization through central Jons Trend. JT-026 also intersected a separate 21.0 m at 1.01 g/t Au from 207.0 m, including 6.95 m at 1.45 g/t Au, providing further evidence for multiple stacked mineralized zones at Jons Trend.
Highlights:
- Hole 26DDH-JT-026 intersected:
- 13.59 m at 10.33 g/t Au from 184.41 m, including:
- 3.56 m at 37.62 g/t Au from 184.41 m
- 21.0 m at 1.01 g/t Au from 207.0 m, including:
- 6.95 m at 1.45 g/t Au from 219.0 m
- Additional mineralization includes 4.52 m at 1.14 g/t Au from 132.48 m and 1.0 m at 3.53 g/t Au from 238.0 m.
- 13.59 m at 10.33 g/t Au from 184.41 m, including:
- Hole 26DDH-JT-026 represents a step-out from recently reported hole JT-025, further demonstrating the continuity of mineralization through the central portion of Jons Trend.
- The additional 21.0 m mineralized interval below the headline intersect further demonstrates the stacked nature of the gold-bearing vein system at Jons Trend.
“JT-026 is another exceptional result from central Jons Trend and, importantly, provides further evidence for continuity of the higher-grade mineralization at depth,” stated Dr. Jacob (Jaap) Verbaas, CEO of Miata Metals. “The interval of 13.59 m at 10.33 g/t Au, including 3.56 metres at 37.62 grams per tonne gold, is one of Miata’s highest-grade intervals reported to date. The additional 21-metre mineralized interval below the headline zone also reinforces the stacked nature of the system. Together with the two broad intervals recently reported from JT-025, we continue to see an encouraging combination of grade, width and continuity through the central portion of Jons Trend. Our ongoing drilling is focused on extending these mineralized zones along their interpreted plunge and at depth.”

Figure 1. SW-NE cross-section through central Jons Trend showing 26DDH-JT-026 and nearby drilling. Highlight intervals in JT-026 include 13.59 m at 10.33 g/t Au, including 3.56 m at 37.62 g/t Au, and a separate 21.0 m at 1.01 g/t Au.
Jons Trend Drilling:
Hole 26DDH-JT-026 was collared on the southwest side of central Jons Trend and drilled toward the north-northeast to test the continuation of the mineralized vein system at depth. The hole represents a step-out from recently reported JT-025, further supporting the continuity of mineralization through central Jons Trend.
The principal interval in JT-026 returned 13.59 m at 10.33 g/t Au from 184.41 m, including 3.56 m at 37.62 g/t Au from 184.41 m.
The results from JT-026 build on the recently reported intersections in JT-025, providing further evidence of continuity within the mineralized system at central Jons Trend. The high-grade interval in JT-026 also demonstrates the presence of higher-grade mineralization within the broader stacked vein system. Mineralization within the JT-026 high-grade interval is associated with strong silicification and a silica-sulfide breccia within the southwest-dipping vein array. Visible gold has also been observed within the mineralized interval.

Figure 2. Core photographs from the JT-026 high-grade interval showing silica-sulfide brecciation, quartz veining and visible gold. A. 26DDH-JT-026 at 185.27 m (6.36 g/t Au) showing quartz-pyrite (py)-chlorite vein cross-cutting silica and biotite altered schist. B. 26DDH-JT-026 at 185.69 m (4.56 g/t Au) showing quartz-pyrite extensional veining and brecciation, with thin fractures filled with visible gold (Au) cross-cutting veins.
Below the headline intersection, JT-026 returned a separate interval of 21.0 m at 1.01 g/t Au from 207.0 m, including 6.95 m at 1.45 g/t Au from 219.0 m. The presence of multiple mineralized intervals at different depths is consistent with the stacked-vein architecture observed throughout central Jons Trend.
The results from JT-026 further extend the mineralization identified in recently reported hole JT-025, which returned two broad zones of 25.6 m at 1.96 g/t Au and 43.0 m at 2.42 g/t Au. Collectively, the drilling continues to demonstrate the continuity of broad mineralized zones through central Jons Trend, with higher-grade mineralization occurring within the broader stacked vein system.

Figure 3. Plan view of Jons Trend highlighting JT-026 through JT-030 and the location of previously reported hole JT-025, an interpreted E-W-trending structural boundary northwest of Jons Trend, and the principal interpreted footprint of mineralized vein zones.
Western and Northwestern Step-Out Drilling at Jons Trend:
Holes 26DDH-JT-027 through to JT-030 tested the western and northwestern extent of Jons Trend and the continuation of mineralization across an interpreted E-W-trending structural zone northwest of the Jons Pit discovery area. JT-027 intersected several mineralized intervals, including 3.60 m at 2.63 g/t Au, 6.82 m at 1.05 g/t Au and 15.62 m at 0.65 g/t Au. The more distal holes JT-028 through JT-030 returned only narrow mineralized intervals. The results provide additional definition of the western and northwestern boundary of the principal Jons Trend mineralized system. The Company’s ongoing drilling is focused on the central mineralized axis and its down-dip and down-plunge extensions, where broad and higher-grade mineralization remains open, and identifying extensions on the southeastern end.

QAQC
Drill core samples were halved on Sela Creek and half-core samplers were processed at FiLAB Suriname, a commercial certified laboratory under ISO 9001:2015. At FiLAB, samples are crushed and pulverized to 85% passing 88 µm prior to analysis using a 50 g fire assay (50 g aliquot) with an Atomic Absorption (AA) finish. For samples that return assay values over 5.0 grams per tonne (g/t) Au, another cut was taken from the original pulp and fire assayed with a gravimetric finish. Samples with coarse visible gold or returning an assay value over 10.0 g/t Au, metallic screen analysis is conducted on the coarse reject material. Miata Metals inserts certified reference standards, as well as blanks and crushed core duplicates, in the sample sequence for quality control and assurance. All QAQC results fell within acceptable limits.
