OKEMOS, MI – October 19, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –
Maintenance schedules for Chevrolet electric vehicles incorporate defined inspection items and service intervals that address systems distinct from conventional powertrains. Regenerative brakes, battery coolant, and the charging socket or port appear among the items listed for periodic review. Graff Chevrolet Okemos documents these considerations through its published Chevrolet EV maintenance in Okemos information, which sets out the specific checks included under the standard EV Pre-Paid Maintenance plan.
Those intervals apply according to the vehicle and the particular maintenance guidance that governs it. The published information does not present a single schedule applicable to every electric vehicle, nor does it treat every listed item as automatic work. Inspection entries remain separate from replacement or flush services that appear only under higher plan levels. Service timing therefore follows the documented structure rather than a generalized assumption about electric-vehicle upkeep.
Regenerative-braking inspection occupies one place in the twelve-month review listed for the standard plan. Regenerative systems slow the vehicle by recovering energy, which can alter the frequency and character of conventional brake use. The documented inspection records the condition of the regenerative brakes at the scheduled interval. It does not establish that component replacement is required, nor does it convert the inspection itself into a repair. Assessment of pad, rotor, or fluid condition remains a separate determination based on what the inspection shows.
Battery coolant appears as a distinct inspection item within the same twelve-month review. The standard plan lists inspection of battery coolant once every twelve months. A coolant flush is not part of that standard entry. The flush is instead listed among the additional services under the Premium plan level. The inspection therefore records coolant condition at the interval; any subsequent flush follows only if the higher-level plan applies and the assessment indicates that the service is warranted. The item is treated as an EV-specific check rather than as a continuation of conventional battery testing or seasonal electrical-demand evaluation.
The charging socket or port is likewise included in the twelve-month inspection listed for the standard plan. The published information identifies the socket or port as an inspection point. It does not describe diagnostic procedures, failure thresholds, or repair techniques. The check remains a recorded review of the listed component at the stated interval. Findings from that review stand on the condition observed at the time of service rather than on assumed rates of wear or charging-related issues.
Tire rotations are listed separately as an interval under the standard plan: every 7,500 miles. That figure is the published plan interval. It is not presented as a universal mileage for every Chevrolet vehicle or for every set of driving conditions. The rotation remains one element of the documented EV maintenance structure, coexisting with the twelve-month inspection items rather than replacing them.
Wiper-blade replacement and cabin air filter replacement, including HEPA, are also listed under the standard plan. One set of wiper blades and/or inserts and one cabin air filter replacement appear among the covered items. These services sit alongside the EV-specific inspections rather than serving as the primary content of the schedule. The Plus plan level increases the number of wiper and filter replacements within the thirty-six-month coverage period and adds one mechanical wheel alignment with calibration once every twenty-four months. The standard plan does not include those additional quantities or the alignment service.
Tom Alaniz, Service Manager at Graff Chevrolet Okemos, described the practical distinction. “An EV maintenance schedule has to follow the systems and intervals that are documented for that vehicle,” Alaniz said. “Regenerative braking, battery coolant, and the charging port are listed for inspection at the twelve-month mark under the standard plan. Those checks record condition at the interval. They do not automatically become replacements or flushes.”
The Premium plan level adds further items beyond the Plus coverage: replacement of one set of brake pads, replacement of front and rear brake rotors, a brake-fluid flush, an electric-vehicle battery coolant flush, and 12-volt auxiliary battery replacement. These services appear only under the Premium listing. They are not part of the standard plan’s twelve-month inspection or its 7,500-mile tire rotation. Coverage remains subject to the terms of the applicable agreement, and high-voltage electric vehicle batteries are excluded from the listed maintenance packages.
Alaniz supplied a further operational note. “Inspection and the work that may follow it are separate steps,” he said. “The twelve-month review of regenerative brakes, coolant, and the charging port establishes what is observed. A pad or rotor replacement, a coolant flush, or an auxiliary battery replacement is considered only when the applicable plan level includes that service and the assessment supports it.”
EV service under the published information therefore consists of a defined mix of recurring inspections and conventional vehicle-care items. The standard plan combines the twelve-month review of regenerative brakes, battery coolant, and the charging socket or port with tire rotations every 7,500 miles and the listed wiper and cabin filter replacements. Higher plan levels expand selected quantities and add alignment, brake-component, fluid, coolant-flush, and auxiliary-battery services. The structure records those distinctions without treating any single interval as universal or any inspection as an automatic repair.
