Cyber Power Systems (USA), Inc., a leader in power protection and power management products, today announced that Wirecutter, an online product recommendations website from the New York Times, recently named two CyberPower UPS (uninterruptible power supply) systems—the CyberPower LE1000DG and the CyberPower CP1350AVRLCD3—as top-rated UPS systems for home use during a power outage. The two CyberPower UPS systems were among only three selected by Wirecutter as best-rated systems to keep Wi-Fi routers and other critical home electronics up and running.
Wirecutter recommends products based on its own independent research, analysis, interviews and testing. For best UPS systems for home use, Wirecutter editors considered hundreds of UPS systems from leading power protection companies (including CyberPower). Key criteria included many elements, such as automatic voltage regulation (AVR), surge protection, power output ratings of at least 600 VA with the capability to a keep a 300 W load running for at least five minutes, a user-replaceable battery, and power management software.
“We are honored to receive accolades from Wirecutter for two of our UPS systems—one as a go-to mid-tier backup solution and another as a heavy hitter for more robust home office setups,” said Brent Lovett, president of CyberPower. “Consumers need to reliably protect their equipment from power outages and surges, and both of these UPS systems provide exceptional value and performance.”
Top Pick
Named the best UPS for a home network and suitable for short-term power outages, the CyberPower LE1000DG UPS system was cited by Wirecutter for its robust feature set, such as a user-replaceable battery and AVR to prolong the overall lifespan of the battery and help prevent damage to sensitive electronics. Requiring no setup, the UPS system measures 12 x 7 x 3.5 inches and features 12 total outlets, including six battery-backed outlets.
With a 1000 VA/530 W power capacity, Wirecutter testing showed the CyberPower LE1000DG UPS system provides enough power to keep a modem and router (up to a 20 W load) running for three hours, and additional equipment (up to a 300 W load) running for 12 minutes.
Top Upgrade Pick
The CyberPower CP1350AVRLCD3 UPS system received high marks overall from Wirecutter as an upgrade pick for powering larger electronics setups and for longer power outages. In a mini-tower form factor, the UPS system is outfitted with 12 outlets total, including six battery-backed outlets, two USB ports (one USB-A and one USB-C), and a backlit screen displaying remaining battery life and the total wattage of plugged-in devices.
With a 1350 VA/815 W power capacity, the Wirecutter review of the CyberPower CP1350AVRLCD3 UPS system cited ample capacity to keep the average modem and router running for up to 4.5 hours, and additional equipment running for 21 minutes.
